Corn Gluten

Corn gluten is the byproduct of the corn-milling process. It's a fine yellow powder that somewhat resembles corn meal, except that it's less granular. In this form, it is considered unprocessed corn gluten.

Corn gluten as an herbicide is used as a pre-emergent. This means that the corn gluten, in powdered form, is spread on bare earth. It prevents the emergence of weeds by creating a susceptibility to dehydration.
